  •  Research

My research activities focus on understanding the molecular and physiological mechanisms that control axillary bud growth in plants, using two model species: the rose and Arabidopsis thaliana. We are particularly interested in the transcriptional regulation of the BRC1 (BRANCHED1) gene, which acts as an integrator of hormonal, physiological and environmental signals in the initiation of branching.

To investigate these mechanisms, I use a range of molecular biology and plant transformation approaches to identify and characterize the regulatory mechanisms involved in the control of plant architecture.

  •  Risk prevention

As a Health and Safety Officer, I contribute to the implementation of measures aimed at preventing occupational risks and improving safety within the Unit. My responsibilities include promoting compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, identifying and purchasing PPE appropriate for experimental activities, updating Occupational Health and Safety Register records following incidents, and reporting needs related to safety improvements and workplace adaptations.

I am also responsible for training new staff members in health and safety procedures through monthly induction sessions. These 2–3-hour sessions raise awareness of the risks and hazards associated with the different workstations and activities within the Unit.

I also coordinate the follow-up of workplace accidents, contribute to root-cause analyses, and help define and implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures.

  •  Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSR) Officer

Appointed as the Unit’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSR) Officer in 2024, I contribute to integrating social and environmental considerations into the Unit’s activities and operations. In this role, I lead working groups dedicated to implementing:

  1. actions aimed at reducing the environmental footprint of the Unit’s activities; and
  2. initiatives designed to improve staff well-being and quality of working life.

I conduct the Unit’s annual carbon footprint assessment and contribute to raising awareness among staff and students about climate change issues, notably through the organization and delivery of dedicated workshops.
